there is a boy in my class who bought a stuffed animal from d.i.
hopefully it wasn't the same stuffed animal that I once met.
it was about fifteen years ago.
and I really had to pee.
I couldn't find a bathroom.
that is all.

I have a bump on my forehead
I have a bump on my forehead.
Well, last night after playing duck-duck-goose and crack the whip, we decided to play toilet tag.
Jacob was "it".
He was running towards me.
Somehow, when I turned around to run from him, Taylor and I bonked heads.
I think this is why I teach second graders.
I am a 7-year-old in a 22-year old body.

dear randy,
I will always remember you
I will always remember when you taught me year after year in primary
I will always remember how you helped me learn the articles of faith
I will always remember the moments you made me laugh
I will always remember how you made me look forward to halloween even more
I will always remember how you didn't like my black car and how you liked my red car better
I will always remember how you pretended that you spied on me and my doorstep moments in high school (you were just making that up, right?)
I will always remember how when you play or sing, you bring tears to my eyes
I will always remember your caring smile
But most of all,
I will always remember how you made me feel.
Loved.

Thank you for loving me, Randy.
You are missed and loved.
We'll do our best to take care of your children and wife.
{looking forward to hearing you sing again}

one million, fifty-one thousand, two-hundred minutes.
17,520 hours. 730 days. 24 months.
Yeah, two years is kind of a long time.
But when it's over, it feels like it was simply a blink of an eye.
Or that it never happened; maybe it was simply a dream.
However, I have learned how important that two years was.
To grow, to learn, to love, to serve, and to miss.
And it was worth it.
It was hard.
But, worth it.
Yeah, two years is kind of a long time.
But when it's over, it feels like it was simply a blink of an eye.

However, I have learned how important that two years was.

And it was worth it.
It was hard.
But, worth it.
You'll be okay.
You're strong.
And things will work out.
I love you.

ninja greg
soooo,
yesterday, during 'good news', one second grade friend shared that he had karate that day.
"awesome," i said, "my husband knows karate."
another second grade friend: "then why does he work HERE?"
it's true: greg, with all of his karate experience, is wasting his time as our school janitor.
